Parking Permits

Parking permits may be purchased to allow a specific vehicle to park on certain streets or lots during the day or overnight within approved guidelines. Permits can be purchased online. Residents can also contact the Parking Permits Office at 708.358.7275 for permit availability and guidelines at desired locations for the types of parking permits listed below.

Overnight On-street in Multi-Family Zones

Overnight on-street parking is allowed in designated multi-family zones with the proper permit. Permit hours start at 11 p.m., and end at 6 a.m., depending on the location of the zone. Overnight parking permits do not override daytime parking restrictions. Fees range from $117 to $137 per quarter, depending on the location.

Off-Street Parking Lots, Structures and Enclaves

The Village manages a range of parking permit options including off-street lots, structures and enclaves. Permits are offered for daytime, overnight and 24 parking.

Overnight Parking
Effective times may vary by location, but generally are 6 p.m. - 8 a.m., Monday-Friday and 24 hours on weekends in designated lots or enclave areas. Fees are $152 - $202 per quarter

Daytime Parking
Effective times may vary by location, but generally are 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Fees are $187 - $287 per quarter

24-Hour Parking
Some Village lots allow 24-hour parking, seven days a week - call 708.358.7275 for information, details and restrictions. Fees are $222 - $332 per quarter (plus cook county tax)

On-street Residential Daytime

On-street daytime parking is allowed in residential neighborhood within approved guidelines. Fee is $74 per year (July 1 - June 30).

Schools & Hospitals

Students and staff of designated institutions may apply for parking permits within approved guidelines where special permit zones are created, such as Oak Park and River Forest High School and Fenwick High School. Fees are $160 - $320 per year. These permits may be administered either by the Village or the individual institutions and must be purchased in-person at Village Hall.

On-street Daytime Business

On-street, daytime business parking permits are offered in specific geographic locations. The fee is $124 per year (July 1 - June 30). This permit must be purchased in-person at Village Hall.

Persons with Disabilities

Special permits are available to residents with disabilities. Specific spaces are designated and the applicant may be responsible for the cost of installing the signage. The fee is $10 per year (Jan 1 - Dec. 31). This permit must be purchased in-person at Village Hall.

Buying or Renewing a Permit

Permits can be renewed or purchased online.

To buy or renew a permit, an applicant must:

  • Upload proof of residency to qualify for reduced rate
  • Have a current Oak Park vehicle license to qualify for resident-only or resident reduced-price permits
  • Have no outstanding Oak Park parking tickets
